Our Brick by Brick fundraising campaign aims to raise the vital funds needed to complete the build of a new two-storey, eight-classroom block at Dedzidi Community School in Ghana.
African Adventures and African Adventures Foundation have spent £28,000 on the build so far, and four of the classrooms have already been completed. With your support, we will raise the money needed to finish constructing the new block at Dedzidi – brick by brick.
African Adventures Foundation’s inaugural fundraising dinner was held in 2015, and raised an incredible £10,000 for our partner projects. This success was then built on over the following two years, with our 2016 and 2017 dinners raising nearly £19,000 altogether.
In 2019, we celebrated 10 years of African Adventures with an extra-special 10-Year Anniversary Dinner, held at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton, which raised an additional £10,000.
Give a Gift is our annual Christmas fundraising campaign. The children who attend our partner projects in Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar come from underprivileged communities, where the challenges of daily life often impact on the joy that Christmas can bring.
With our Give a Gift campaign, you can provide the children at our partner projects with a nutritious festive meal, a Christmas celebration, or a food package for their family.
The Big Build Kenya saw African Adventures Foundation team up with Chichester College to raise the funds needed to construct a permanent primary school at The Walk Centre. This was the most ambitious construction project that African Adventures had taken on.
The new primary school – which officially opened in August 2017 – has 10 classrooms, and the capacity to provide a free education to over 300 underprivileged children from the local community.
The Big Bike Ride was a 1,200km cycling challenge through the Rift Valley, beginning in Nakuru in Kenya and finishing in Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, that took place in 2017.
A team of five cyclists, including African Adventures Director Dan Mew, battled challenging terrain, poor road conditions, and unpredictable weather on their 11-day journey, raising an incredible £11,841.17 for The Walk Centre’s new primary school.
Move For The Walk was a brilliant opportunity for UK school pupils to take on a challenge as a team, participate in a fun activity that promotes health and well-being, and learn about how they can make a positive contribution to the world around them.
This campaign raised over £4,800 for The Walk Centre’s new primary school through sponsored sports activities such as tennis, volleyball, basketball, and even an eight-hour football match!
Our Christmas Meal Appeals aimed to give each child at our partner projects a nutritious festive meal and, between 2014 and 2017, these campaigns raised an incredible £12,000.
In 2018, our Christmas Meal Appeal was rebranded as Give a Gift This Christmas. This allowed us to provide the children at our partner projects with a wider range of ‘gifts’ at Christmas time, such as food packages for their families or an energy-saving Gyapa stove.
